Hey Traveler! DTF is a pitstop to refuel, not for too long as we’re training to be one percent better. Every other week we deep dive into the scriptures to share Hope, Love & Encouragement just as Jesus would want us to.
We’re also passionate about productivity and knocking off that work-life balance thing.
When you find joy at the end of Today’s volume, please pass in on to a friend.
God Bless You.
2 Corinthians 6:18 (NIV)
18⌄ And,“I will be a Father to you,and you will be my sons and daughters, says the Lord Almighty.”5
When I turned Ten, my Dad gave me a hard-copy of the Holy Bible for my birthday. It didn’t occur to me at the time how much that would influence my life.
Not only did it sow a seed of Love towards God, as an adult it has put into perspective how great the Father’s love is.
It’s far-fetched to live a life where we never step on anyone toes or anything like that, sometimes it is the thought we let in that ruin our experiences.
There’s no reason to condemn yourself when the grace of God is readily available through the scriptures.
The Bible tells the story of Jesus, when he was confronted by a group of scribes and pharisees about a woman caught in adultery.
They brought her to Christ seeking his judgement upon her; when they wouldn’t let the matter rest, he replied thus:
John 8:7 (NIV)
7⌄ When they kept on questioning him, he straightened up and said to them, “Let any one of you who is without sin be the first to throw a stone at her.”
You see, a lot of the grief we feel on a moment to moment basis is unnecessary punishment, it’s all stuff we can just take easy.
Jesus didn’t see any need to condemn the woman, his mission was to embody the father’s Love hear on earth.
John 8:10-11 (NIV)
10⌄ Jesus straightened up and asked her, “Woman, where are they? Has no one condemned you?”
11⌄¶ “No one, sir,” she said.“Then neither do I condemn you,” Jesus declared. “Go now and leave your life of sin.”
You are worthy of Love, Joy, Peace and all the other fruits of the Spirit, don’t work yourself into a corner over nothing. The Father has all things and it’ll all add up again.
Hope you enjoy a lovely weekend!
Surprising the Taxi Driver
Last Wednesday a passenger in a taxi heading for the airport leaned over to ask the driver a question and gently tapped him on the shoulder to get his attention. The driver screamed, lost control of the cab, nearly hit a bus, drove up over the curb and stopped just inches from a large plate glass window.
For a few moments everything was silent in the cab.
Then, the shaking driver said "Are you OK? I'm so sorry, but you scared the living daylights out of me." The badly shaken passenger apologized to the driver and said, "I didn't realize that a mere tap on the shoulder would startle someone so badly."
The driver replied, "No, no, I'm the one who is sorry, it's entirely my fault. I've been a driver for 25 years but today is my very first day driving a cab." "What did you drive before that?"
"A hearse."
