Hey Traveler! DTF is a pitstop to refuel, not for too long as we’re training to be one percent better. Every other week we deep dive into the scriptures to share Hope, Love & Encouragement just as Jesus would want us to.
We’re also passionate about productivity and knocking off that work-life balance thing.
When you find joy at the end of Today’s volume, please pass in on to a friend.
God Bless You.
Hebrews 10:39
39⌄ But we do not belong to those who shrink back and are destroyed, but to those who have faith and are saved.
Last Wednesday I woke up with enthusiasm to win the day, but as soon as the Tv came on the weather person was preparing us for a storm. I turned it off, still determined to have a good day; then I pulled back the curtains to be greeted with a view of thick dark clouds staring back at me.
I thought to myself, ‘not today’ with a deep sigh.
Then this scripture popped up in my mind:
2 Corinthians 5:7 (NIV)
7⌄ For we live by faith, not by sight.
When the Twelve spies that Moses sent to spy on the land of Canaan returned, only Joshua and Caleb had encouraging news to report. The other spies focused on the challenges and obstacles they perceived in the land rather than on its positive aspects. Their report played a significant role in spreading fear and doubt among the Israelites.
Joshua and Caleb were willing to stand against the majority opinion of the other spies. They were not swayed by fear or popular sentiment. Their courage and conviction set them apart and allowed them to express their confidence in the potential success of the Israelites' mission.
Proverbs 4:23-27 (NIV)
23⌄¶ Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it.
24⌄¶ Keep your mouth free of perversity; keep corrupt talk far from your lips.
25⌄¶ Let your eyes look straight ahead; fix your gaze directly before you.
26⌄¶ Give careful thought to the3 paths for your feet and be steadfast in all your ways.
27⌄¶ Do not turn to the right or the left; keep your foot from evil.
In the story of Jesus feeding the five thousand, we witness how courage and faith intersect to create miracles. The disciples faced an overwhelming situation – a multitude of hungry people with only five loaves of bread and two fish. In the face of scarcity, they could have easily succumbed to fear and doubt, but Jesus' response demonstrated a powerful lesson in taking courage.
The act of giving God your seed – in this case, the meager offering of loaves and fish – symbolises giving God what you have, no matter how small it may seem. When we trust God with our "seed" (our resources, talents, or efforts), He can multiply it beyond our imagination.
Phillipians 4:6-7 (NIV)
6⌄ Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.
7⌄ And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
Even with the weather report seemingly not looking good, I went about my day hoping to have a good day. We had light showers that Wednesday (No thunderstorms thankfully) and I managed to have one of the more productive days yet.
Joshua & Caleb’s faith earned them the privilege of being the only men from their generation permitted to go into the Promised Land after the time of wandering.
Jesus fed the multitude, but it took the “seed” of faith.
Be positive and recognise anxious thoughts for what they are.
Don’t shrink back.
Don’t loose faith.
Keep your belief and trust in the Lord Almighty and He who knows all things would perfect his works in your life.
Hope you enjoy a lovely weekend! God Bless You.
JOKE. Jose the Tourist
A young Mexican man named Jose was curious about America so he saved his money and went on a trip.
He wanted to go see a baseball game so when he went home, he could tell his family all about it. When he got there, the game was sold out, so he decided to climb to the top of a flag pole to get a better look. When he returned home, his family was anxious to hear about his experience:
"What happened?" asked his family.
"Well, America is the nicest place in the world!!" he said. "Before the game started, all the people in the stands and all the players stood up, looked at me and shouted to me: "Jose, can you see?"
